Service before, during, and after the sale is very important to Golden State. This includes customer service in addition to apparatus service! Below is a sampling of some features and benefits that you receive from Golden State when a vehicle is purchased from us:

Honesty in business dealings:
Our commitment is to you, the customer. The bottom of our letterhead states “Your Satisfaction is Our Commitment”. We put a plaque in each apparatus that we sell stating this as well. The only way that this can be achieved is through honest business dealings.

Commitment:
Established in 1989, Golden State Fire Apparatus, Inc. is one of the more established fire apparatus dealers in Central and Northern California. With well over 700 pieces of Pierce apparatus in the field, we intend to be here for many years to come. Do your homework up front in selecting a fire apparatus dealership that has been, and will be around for at least as long as the warranty!

Thorough bid preparation:
With Professional Results in Daily Efforts (PRIDE) we offer our customers the finest apparatus and service. Our proprietary PRIDE computer system is designed and maintained in house at Pierce. Specifications for your apparatus are constructed on this program. The PRIDE program allows us to determine a number of features that benefit you, the customer listed as follows:

  • Determine correct axle capacities
  • Generate a detailed turning radius report
  • Draw a preliminary reference drawing
  • Analyze the electrical system amperage draw
  • Determine hosebed capacities and weights
  • Accurately determine wheelbase and overall lengths

Once the specifications have been finalized and the compatibility is complaint with the components, we have your proposal! This proposal can be put on file within our system so future apparatus purchases can be duplicated almost identically. Inspection trips:
If your department specifies inspection trips, we make all of the arrangements and take care of all expenses while in Appleton, Wisconsin. Of course, the cost of the trips is built into the price of our proposal. A Golden State representative accompanies all customers at all times unless special arrangements are made.

Vehicle registration:
Golden State Fire Apparatus, Inc. registers all Pierce vehicles with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) as standard. Special arrangements can be made if your department or city is required to register their vehicles. All pertinent documents are kept on file in our Modesto office for reference.

Apparatus training:
Pierce furnishes detailed service, parts, and operation manuals covering body components, pump components, and electrical system schematics upon delivery. In addition to all of the training aids, Golden State provides hands-on “familiarization” training at your department. The “familiarization” training can be scheduled to meet the requirements of your department.

Modern indoor work facility:
The 11,000 square foot facility is centrally located near highways 99 and 132. The shop can accommodate eleven pieces of apparatus indoors at any given time.

Factory trained service technicians:
Service personnel are factory trained by Pierce to service our products. This includes extensive training on the chassis, body, electrical systems, and aerial devices.

On-site Pierce parts inventory:
Burton’s carries a large inventory of Pierce parts in addition to an even larger inventory of more traditional parts that are not exclusive to Pierce. If the part that you are looking for is not available from Burton’s, it can be ordered directly from the factory. Our goal is to keep your equipment on the road and ready to go!

Mobile repair services:
In addition to their in-house capabilities, Burton’s has mobile service trucks ready to roll at a moment’s notice. Repairs can be done at your fire department depending on the type of repairs required.
